Since Emperor Ssra isn't going to be killed with anything short of a raid, perhaps you can still keep the majority of the VT quest in by a workaround. I would put a static spawn of the Shissar wraiths that pop once you kill emp, probably in the room you teleport into and setup for the fight. That way you still need to get the emp key, but not actually kill emp. I would like to run around VT but it doesn't seem like a possibility. You may also consider putting essence emeralds on the quest vendor for the key quest.

I have killed Boogoog many times and have never gotten anything other than the cracked branch to drop. Were the moss covered twig and branch added? Thanks, i really enjoy the nostalgia here!

The question is whether the Moss Covered Twig is primary usable. It was only fun before it was nerfed and made secondary only.

Sounds like you had an unlucky streak with Boogoog! Both the twig and branch are in, and the twig is primary-enabled. :)

suggestion:

epic clicky cast time reductions to make them usefull , doesn't have to be instant , altho it would be nice :p
2-3 sec would be good enough
10 sec cast is just useless :(

this is for epic 1.0 clikies only like shaman spear , or druid sword (dots) , and alike

(ignore if this is already the case , haven't gotten epic yet :p)

First I want to say thank you for making this server! As an actual dad, this server seems perfect to let me play the game I love on the limited time I have without being stuck in low levels forever. So again, thank you!

However, upon making my iksar SK (I always start iksar SK lol) I noticed my character did not start with his guild note necessary to get the Pawn's Khukri, the first step in the Greenmist quest (Which I can TOTALLY do on this server yay!). As such, I had to do the extremely annoying "The Penance" quest just to get my starting weapon. Perhaps you could restore the iksar characters' starting guild notes? I want to make an iksar shammy to box with, but I DON'T want to have to do the Penance twice! Blech!

FWIW: It was nice not having to worry about using the 2/60 2hb Penance Hammer thanks to Hateful Guard. By the time the quest was complete and I had my Pawn's Khukri, I had already gotten my IBC and Shield of Kurn from Kurn's, and was level 18 or so.

it didn't exactly drop :p
it was a GM event reward back in the kunark era , was only 1 per server
but it was ingame back in the day :p

i know it's kinda OP and would probably make ranger a mandatory DPS class for any setup you may run
altho i've seen it in action on naggy server and can be an aggro magnet if not handled propperly

but if this was added to like a quest or maybe a 0.001% world drop (or zone but then you atleast gotta give some hints on which zone :p )

Glad you're enjoying it! Who is the GM for the shammy quest or what's the item you get from it? (sorry not familiar with that one). Also, if you want to get started before I fix it, you can just make your shammy and I can give you the item after.

Oakwind might be just a bit op ;) and faster clicking epics would probably be ok, would have to evaluate them individually though. Sounds like something that could happen though.

Thanks again for the server. I would like to second the decreased clicky time on epics. I finally (with your help) was able to get the Shammy epic, but I am finding I almost never use it because the damage for the amount of casting time is very low. As intended, fights are a lot faster on this server (which I love), but as the shammy epic has to "ramp up" its damage, it is seeming to be a waste of time.

Control,

I didn't see it in the change log, but have you/could you change the drop rate for the Cazic Quill off of General V'Ghera to 100%? I am going to try to complete the rogue epic later this week and while the rogue epic is rather easy, the idea of having to go to Kedge Keep to deal with Phinigel Autropos makes me a sad panda.

Just kill the dark elves in the cabin with the General. I know a couple of mobs in the cabin drop the Kedge and Ishva robes. I don't remember the respawn but it should be pretty quick.

Just did the rogue Epic myself. Took no time at all (maybe 2 hours in running around and that was about it). General dropped the quill so thanks Control!

Also, I'm gonna kick myself for mentioning it, but it appears the SK Spell "Scream of Death" isn't proccing a lifetap....it's proccing a 2-hour self-haste. Which is the bees knees, but I'm sure it's not intended :)

Suugested changes-

After doing the SK Epic piece in fear, I'd maybe suggest making the trash repop time in fear a bit longer? A raid, which would be expected in classic, can put out enough dps to keep fear clear, but even with mob strength cut, a single group struggles to keep it clear long enough to take out one of the golems. Unless you're intending people wait until 60+ to do that content (for an epic that becomes significantly less useful at 60+), as I did it in my low 50's, but died after killing Dread (came back on a suicide-run to loot the corpse) because of all the adds even though I had the southeast portion of the zone clear before pulling.

Also, maybe increase the rate of quest armor drops in Kael? I cleared the arena without a single drop. Haven't tried any of the ToV armor so I don't know the droprate there.

Lord Begurgle also seems to still be a rare spawn, unknown if that's intended, but I've cleared the tower 3x without him popping. Not that cleric epics are particularly useful on this server, but it's better than a Dark Ember, and my cleric ain't afraid to swing her weapon!

Fungi staff still seems to self-snare, also, and the effect is only 5 minutes long?

Any chance of rubicite armor dropping again? Not that I need it or it's particularly useful, but gotta love that red plate.
