Visions of Grandeur

Hey guys,
I'm writing this from work but I will be starting later today when I get home. A few questions before I start if anyone could help me out.
1- is there a preferred eq client? I currently have titanium since I was playing on p99. Is that ok to use? Will I have problems or do I need to get a different version?
2- does the progression start from newbie zone then going thru the grind and thru each expansion or is it like ez server where all starting players are bundled together in an area and play in custom zones? Also is the gear custom or is it exactly how it is in the normal game?
3- I want to 2box (I never really liked boxing so I'm willing to do 2 but 3 seems like a hassle to me) would that be enough to get epics/bosses/dragons? I was thinking maybe a warrior/cleric duo

I know it'd be easier to just log in and find out for myself but like I said I'm just researching this from work since I'm bored and if anyone is bored as well feel free to give me any advice for starting out.

There used to be a link to the preferred client. I think you need SoD? Or at least that works best.

Gear is normal. You can progress at your own pace through content that you enjoy. There is no rush here. Take your time and see things.

With the right 2 boxes you can get through kunark and epics. Minus VP. For anything after you may need a 3rd. A slower is always going to be needed.

I was able to do SH/SK epics with just my two guys. But I am moving towards 6. It's not bad but it takes some practice and getting used to.

Do u recommend a shaman for slows and heals with a plate class? I was thinking cleric for CH but I guess with slow may not even need CH If I can get some Regen items like fungi tunic.
I'm going to try in titanium client since I don't have any other and my internet is usually kinda throttle-ly

for a 2 box shaman will be way better than a cleric for you

I echo their sentiments. Shaman is a must. Plenty of mobs on this server become cake once slower and are very hard if not impossible for a cleric to keep up with otherwise. You'd burn mana for heals too fast.

Welcome to the server! Sorry, we usually try to be much quicker about answering but RL has been a bit crazy for Control and me.

In answer to #1. Yes, there is a preferred eq client. We use the ROF2 client, but it's best to fetch it from this thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7 and grab it from the Client Download link. Also, make sure to grab the spell file from this thread.

In answer to #2 and #3, you've gotten great answers from others.
