Sightseeing tour of Norrath

Hi,

I'm really enjoying this server so far, having a great time, thanks again Control. I decided to make a list of mobs I'd like to take down and do a tour of Norrath but my memory of progression 15-20 years ago is fuzzy. I couldn't find much online useful but I found a list and put it in a spreadsheet, the only problem is to me the progression looks odd. Was Sleeper's Tomb easier than NToV? I thought it was the other way round...

If anyone cares to give their input, what would you change in this list to go from easiest to hardest?

I would move Vindicator and Inny to Tier 3 and the VP dragons to Tier 7 or 8. It is VP 2.0. I would move Vyzh`dra the Cursed and Lord Inquisitor Seru down at least two Tiers on this server. The only challenge in either mob is staying awake while you beat through their hit points.

Rumblecrush might need to drop a tier or Vindi goes up. They have about the same DPS but Rumble is slowable and iirc Vindi is not. I was able to kill Rumble a few times with my 4-box at 58.

That said, I might use this list myself! Thanks for making it!

Nice list!

With the exception of ventaani, I don't think there was much in sleepers that was really a challenge once you knew the fight mechanics. It was basically a reward for the guild that was able to farm enough keys first. And some of the ntov bosses were basically trash for any guild capable of being there, so things get a little tricky when comparing individual mobs instead of zones. Difficulty ranking would also be different here from live due to some of the changes and that everything is being fought solo or in very small groups.

For the list, a lot of the VT mobs are trivial once slowed, and the only difficulty is keying and clearing trash.
Seru here is probably way easier than live, and ssra is one of the harder mobs to take with a small group because of the logistics.
Cazic may have gotten upgraded on live at some point? but he's pretty easy here, on par with Inny. Don't remember exactly, but pretty sure I killed them both with 3 low/mid 50's.
The first couple of lists seem a little wonky. I would generally say that the bosses in vanilla+planes are easier than the kunark bosses, and then they're easier than the velious bosses. After that it gets more mixed.

I agree about ST and ToV but both Inny and CT are the revamped level 70 variety. They both have 100k hp or there about, maybe more, and will hit for 300's or so. I can't remember if CT can be slowed but he is actually quite a pain with his knockback.

ya, he is a pain for sure, but he's slowable, iirc seemed similar to gore/sev/tal.

here's a few progression points for whatever they're worth:

nag/vox probably deserve their own tier. they're doable at 50 or before. very not the same difficulty as velious dragons

pretty sure i killed trak/inny/ct with sk/shm/clr at 55 or below and in super crap gear.

tal/sev/gore/kd/lodi somewhere in the mid/high 50s

I fought zlandi/klandi a few times at 59/60 with war/bst/rog/clr (bst slow is worse than shm of course, but far higher dps group), crap armor but decent weapons. always beat zlandi but it was close. was like 50/50 on klandi. vindi destroyed us.

duoed velk with a (iirc) 61 mage and mid 50's cleric

Also, this thread makes me want to go kill things!

I actually made a spreadsheet with 'downed' status on it; is that a bit odd? Possibly, but there's something satisfying about working through a list in order!

A spreadsheet sounds like a great idea actually. Of course you're gonna wanna track your kills!

50/50 success rate on Seru with my 4-box group of 63's and a friend's 6-box at 58 or so, for reference (wiped once with 3% left and beat once with everyone oom). We tried Kael the other day and cleared Vindi just fine, and Statue and Idol, but being unslowable, Avatar of War completely destroyed us. Might still need to be bumped up a tier?

Also, my 4-box group can take out Dozekar but JUST barely. Guess this means I can take out CT and Inny? I'll be trying them soon.

Is the tier list for VP bosses accurate? Their gear is insane and if so, I clearly need to focus my efforts there.

No the VP list is not accurate. The dragons hit for between 900's and 1400's. All of them but Xygoz are slowable which is a blessing but if you can't do AoW there is no hope of killing Xygoz. VP isn't too bad since pretty well all of the AoE's were either removed or nerfed to the point of being inconsequential but the dragons hit hard and have quite high attack. One bad round of flurries can kill you quite easier until you are geared up. If LiS is still killing you I would avoid the named dragons in VP. You could try farming the trash for their drops though since there are probably some upgrades for you.

Excellent, thanks for the advice :) I'll probably keep running Dozekar and doing Tactics for armor then. Gotta gear up and AA to take on the big boys!

Emperor Ssra is harder than any other boss in Luclin to solo, and should be separated from most of the VT bosses. The only VT boss that presents a challenge in my opinion is DXXT.

Good idea! Enabling people to go on a "SIghtseeing tour of Norrath" is pretty much the reason the server exists :)

Noticed Bristlebane is not on this list. It appears he is the pre-revamp version (Spawns in theatre, pops minor adds every 25%, doesn't go through Magic/Melee phases). I'd probably put him a tier higher than Seru. I can beat Seru without going under 80m on cleric, while Bristlebane required binding at the location and a couple deaths during the fight. He hits around 900, Seru hits around 4-500.
