Hey Bud,

Earth Rings are still badly bugged. Vine Ring keeps respawning mobs - there should only be 10 you have to kill. Mud Ring keeps spawning 12ish Sludge Lurkers - which there should only be 1 at a time for up to 5 times.

Coirnav could also use a longer time to complete between waves - as the waves are spawning too quickly before you can complete. I would think another 2 minutes per wave should be good.

Plane of Air - Avatar of Dust is insane - massive hp's and his ramp is insane as well.

So even though the even is bugged- we were able to bard pull the required mobs and completed all 4 rings however - The Mysical Arbiter of Earth did not spawn.

We had the same problems with PoE A you are describing including The Mystical Arbiter of Earth not spawning. Luckily, we zoned into PoE A one day and had at least eight Mystical Arbiter's of Earth up. I told Control about it but have not been back to do the Ring's since. It does seem really buggy.

I think we have only tried Coirnav twice. Ran out of time both times but the attempts were far from flawless. The current time limits may be unrealistic but will need to make some more attempts to get a good feel for it.

In my opinion, Avatar of Dust is fine. If Control does decide to change Avatar of Dust he will need to look at PoE B since there is a mob in there that is much, much worse but still doable.

Tested and tinkered with the poea rings tonight. the events there have some issues, probably similar to the respawning problem in poa too. seems as though events are getting called multiple times, even when they should be locked out resulting in the multiple pops. I was able to complete them and get the arbitor to pop, but there are some spots that would have been really rough for a normal group. I need to either find a way to lock the event calls down or redesign them entirely.

On a whim, I tried to tackle Talendor with my troupe with my mage pet as tank, but the pet would would not engage that rotten wurm. Any insight would be appreciated. I may not try again until I gain a few more levels.

I'll guess that you weren't close enough. Pets have a fairly short range where they'll actually follow your attack command. It's normally not too noticable, but pretty much every time I go to kill a kunark dragon, I have to get much closer than I think I should. I think its a combination of it just being a wide-open space and a mob with a really big model that probably still gets it's distance measurement from its center.

Of course, if you were engaging him and the pet still wouldn't attack, that's very different. I seem to remember my pet getting "stuck" very occasionally, where it wouldn't respond to commands. A relog always seemed to pop him out of it luckily. I also notice that my pet just randomly memblurs himself sometimes, making me need to press attack again. I've just gotten used to always keeping my finger near the attack hotkey for that one.

Plane of Earth A:

Vine Ring- Kill 30 Tainted Rock Beasts and it works to trigger the event. Unfortunately, it spawns 30 "A Bloodthirsty Vegerog" instead of the 10 that are supposed to spawn for the event. The good news is that if you kill 10 of them then Derugoak Bloodwalker spawns as he should if the 10 proper "A Bloodthirsty Vegerog" spawn. After killing Derugoak Bloodwalker, the remaining 20 "A Bloodthirsty Vegerog" remain up and despawn hours later. We killed 10 more "A Bloodthirsty Vegerog" after downing Derugoak Bloodwalker to see if he would spawn again but no such luck. I guess I would say this event is working except for the triple spawn of "A Bloodthirsty Vegerog".

Stone Ring - Works fine and haven't noticed any problems with it. I did notice that Peregrin Rockskull did not drop any loot at completion of the event except for a spell rune but I do believe it has been stated that it is intended that this may occur.

Dust Ring - No issues. It appears to be working perfectly.

Mud Ring - I don't even know where to begin with how broken this event seems to be. Killed all "An Earthen Mudwalker" to start the event which worked fine. "A Sludge Lurker" spawned as is supposed to happen. Well, not really. It actually spawned 13 or 14 of them. My entire extended target menu with the 8 ranks of eyes wide open was full of "A Sludge Lurker". Managed to split them and started killing one. Once the "A Sludge Lurker" was down to 50% the 10 "A Muck Mudlet" spawned as intended. Killed those off and back to splitting the plethora of "A Sludge Lurker"s. Rinse and repeat many times and sometimes "A Sludge Lurker" would finally despawn completely and sometimes respawn in the temple with the rest of them upon death. On the death of the pack of 10 "A Muck Mudlet" from "A Sludge Lurker" #10 or so we finally had 4 "A Filth Gorger" spawn and it seemed like things were progressing. Killed the 4 "A Filth Gorger" hoping to see "A Monstrous Mudwalker" spawn but nope. Continue to kill the multiple "A Sludge Lurker" and on about "A Sludge Lurker" #12 two of the ten "A Muck Mudlet"s spawn under the ground and couldn't be targeted or aggro'd. We killed the eight "A Muck Mudlet"s we could aggro and continued on. Finally managed to kill all the "A Sludge Lurker"s and... nothing.

I know you have done some work on the rings and applaud you for the effort. I know nothing about what goes into those on the scripting side of things. I know some others have also had issues with the ring events and unfortunately it is locking people out of Plane of Earth B even though they are putting in the effort. Would it be possible to tie "The Mystical Arbitor of Earth" to just the completion of the Stone Ring, by far the hardest anyways, or the Stone and Dust since they actually work as intended? Or just have "The Mystical Arbitor of Earth" up all the time? I'm not sure how many people have the time or resolve to attempt to complete all four rings in their current state. I am all for the spirit of the events in the game remaining true to PoP flagging and progression but the current state of the Plane of Earth progression is frustrating to say the least. Additionally, even if "The Mystical Arbitor of Earth" is made more available it isn't as if Plane of Earth B is a free ride. Unless something has changed in the last week or two Warlord Gintolaken remains the hardest individual mob outside of Plane of Time on the server.

Still haven't managed to redo the PoE rings, but I made the Arbitor a static spawn for now. Not the best, but at least it will un-bottleneck people. I'll try to sort out a better solution eventually, but there's some life craziness lately with changing jobs and countries, so updates have been a bit slow.

Thank you for the temporary fix .

We tried the Mud and Vine Tings again last night and they demonstrated the same behaviours. The Mud ring had "A Sludge Lurker" spawn but by the time we managed to spawn the first wave of mini's there were eight "A Sludge Lurker"s up and they hit a critical mass of 15 over a spawn of about 5 minutes. The Vine ring again spawned the 30 "A Bloodthirsty Vegerog"s. At least the behaviour of the two rings in their scripts are consistent.

Epic 1.0

ROG: Karg IceBear is hard to spawn (normal) however, he isn't dropping his sword. I've been able to spawn him roughly 6 times in 2 weeks. Twice he's had the sword in his hand but never drops it. He always has Cloak of the Icebear.
BRD: Drovarg Warlord hasn't dropped the Petrified Skull of a Lycanthrope in the past 30+ kills.
Phinigel Autropos hasn't dropped the Backbone of an Ancient Fishman in 8+ kills
Amygdalan hasn't dropped the Amalgam Tentacle in 20+ kills

Maybe this is the norm, but I just don't remember it being this hard. My other characters I was able to get epics between 1-5 kills per item needed.

Also, Grachnist the Destroyer in Warsliks Wood isn't dropping the Shrunken Goblin Skull Earring. 50+ kills and no drops.

I've upped the droprate on everything you mentioned, but I wonder if some of the problem wasn't the names of the items?
Sword was at 35%, skull was at 35% but it's actually called Petrified Werewolf Skull, the backbone was at 50% but it's called Kedge Backbone, and the tentacle was at 8.5% from Amygdalan warriors, but it's actually called an Amygdalan Tendril. I mean, it's always possible to get screwed by the RNG, but 30 kills without getting a 35% drop is pretty crazy.

I have been playing for 3 weeks now and have been having a blast. Few issues with mobs not spawning and items not dropping for old classic quests.


Paladin Armor of Ro quests

Lake Rathe - I have killed probably 60 goblin net masters and have not had a single Deepwater Goblin Net drop for the bracer quest

South Karana - I have slaughtered everything in the zone multiple times and have not seen an undead cyclops spawn for the Cyclops Skulls for the helmet quest

Eruds Crossing - I have killed the plague shark 20-25 time so far and it has not dropped the Rotten Shark Meat for the vambraces quest


Shadowknight Darkforge Armor quests

Steamfont Mountains - have been clearing the mino caves for days, have not seen the Minotaur Lord spawn for the Horn for the bracer quests


Ranger Ivy Etched Armor quests

Lesser Faydark - have killed all the brownies, pixies, etc and have not seen a single brownie outcast spawn, need the 6 different arrows for the leggings quest


Hero Bracer Quest

Steamfont Mountains - have been clearing the mino caves for days, have not seen the Minotaur Hero


Gnoll Slayer Quest

South Karana - I have slaughtered everything in the zone multiple times and have not seen the one eyed gnoll or the Lteth Val Scribe spawn for the quest items.

Heya Control,

just a wee problem. doing the Crusader tests for Iksar SK o get that Greenmist... the Dalnir parts just don't seem to be dropping for the dagger from the blacksmith and Kly Imprecators (sp?).

Spent a long time for 1 of 4 drops.. all grey mobs almost too now... able to tweak the drop rate up a bit please?

So, after playing my BER to 65 I noticed something peculiar:

I don't crit at all, except for when I'm berserk I'll get crippling blows.

No Crits with Frenzy, Ranged Weps or regular melee. I have crit blow messages going to a separate window so I won't miss them (I'm a narcissist and like to see those 1.2k crippling blows...)

I believe BER's are supposed to be on par or very close to the War crit base rate.

That's odd. I just went back and checked my zerkers logs and there are definately crits there. Higher crit rate than my warrior, and neither have any aa's yet.

Have you checked your logs? Something may be getting filtered strangely.

I farmed about 15 aa's today and this is what my logs look like everywhere. No criticals anywhere in the log, then when I go berserk the Crippling blows just roll in.

Just in case anyone runs into the crit problem later, we weren't able to find out the problem other than it possibly being a client issue. I was able to see and log his crits in-game, but he couldn't see them. He could see the damage from the crit but not the crit message, so if anyone else is affected, your damage should parse correctly, even if you don't see the crit messages.

Thanks Control on the Dalnir Sk quest... but seeing that it's needed for multiple quests could you make the undead blacksmith always drop the Forge Hammer?
