However, if you're able to reproduce the desync by doing nothing but zoning into certain zones, then it sounds like there's an issue with your zone files.
Just to double check, are you using the RoF2 client? and did you download it from vogeq.com? If not, try that.
Also, another thing that fixes some crashes for me, using 'set affinity' to set each eq instance to it's own single core, (doesn't sound like it would affect this problem, but /shrug, can't hurt to try)
Thanks for the suggestions. I am using RoF2 and set affinity didn't help.
I replaced new versions of all the Kithicor files (using that as a test zone) but that didn't help. The only other thing I can notice is that if I zone back and forth quickly it works (the crash is always from the Rivervale -> Kithicor side, not the other way round). So if I zone into Rivervale but then zone back within a few seconds, no problems. If I give it 20 seconds and then try to zone, the crash.
It's not the end of the world and if no one else is having the problems I expect it's something my end. I'll try to have a think what it could be. It only happens in a small number of old world zones... hmm. Will post here if I find anything.
P.S. got this in sky.txt log, not sure if it's of any relevance:
