Leveling Path

Hey I'm new to the server, and I found out about it through the FoH thread. I have some experience boxing, but no experience with the tuning here.

If I'm looking to down the road do raids with my squad, what type of progression should I follow? I'm assuming rush to 65 and start AA'ing, but where and for how long I need some advice. Also if there are any general xp advice unique to this server it would be super helpful to know.

Thanks!

I don't know if it is the quickest, but I've started in Unrest, mistmoore, city of mist, and then veksar. I usually leave as soon as things turn white/dark blue cons.

Early on just do what is fun, I did a nostalgia run through guk and sol a/b when levelling up - the xp flies in regardless of where you are really but obviously old world mobs have less HP than kunark/velious. Hitting Veksar when you can is a good shout as you will get some good gear options from there.

If you are looking to just level fast make sure you go to Sol B. It gives a greatly disproportionate amount of course for some reason. You should be able to 30-50 quite quickly. Also, don't forget about Droga. It is the revamped zone and drops really good gear (Copper Hammer of Striking for example) easily attainable around level 60.

Thanks for the replies! My box is currently lvl 60, with 65 a day or two away, and I'm pretty much full of Veksar and Droga gear. What spots are good for AA farming, and how long should I grind those til I'm NToV capable?

As long as you have a cleric and a class that can slow you should be able to do NToV without any AA's except maybe Vyemm since I don't think he is slowable. You might be able to do him as well but I can't remember. I would hit up Droga for AA's or some place like Plane of Innovation. Someone else might be able to comment on Veksar for AA's since I really have no experience with that zone.

Also, once you hit 65 look at hitting up Veeshan's Peak for the random drops off the trash mobs and the couple of quests which can be completed there off of Xygoz and Hoshkar (I think). Just go kill goblins in Permafrost if you need to fix your faction and it should be max'd in fifteen minutes or so. There is a third one off of Phara Dar but you need Plane of Tactics access to complete that one. The remaining quests off the Veeshan's Peak dragons can't be completed since they require drops from zones you cannot access on this server.

Just for some context: I boxed a BER/DRU/SHM at first and had no problems getting to 65 / AA'sing. Started running into problems with mobs that couldn't be slowed but had no problems tanking anything that's slowable.

1-~14: Kurns Tower
~14-~28: SolA
28-~40: City of Mist
40-50: SolB
Around 50 I started farming gear and the levels just came naturally. Droga / Nurga / Veksar are all great starts for group gear. 55+ things slow down until you get Tactics or Sol Ro Access. (You can do the alt access quest for Sol Ro).

MB *IS* boxable, just have to keep all the spiders out of the room -> It's a bit tedious but if you take the time to trigger MB and then aggro the 4 spiders that path into his room you can offtank all of those super easy on someone outside the room then just DPS burn MB down. Or find someone higher level to do the script for you. The pit in Tactics is A+ exp.

Ornate gear for most visible slots, VP gear from trash mobs for non-vis slots. After that you just start hunting whatever gear you can find as you work on planar progression.

I will say that it's not really worth the effort to flag for VT. You still need to do the key quest and despite that the droprate for all the parts is super high Emperor Ssra is still a huge pita and I haven't figured out how to box him yet. :|
