Visions of Grandeur

My in game character is Avery, I started a guild called Militant (which I now regret =P) The problem is I am catching flack from people that seem to think it is my responsibility to group with them or gear them up or flag all their bots or whatever...which it isnt ...nor did I ever state that it was nor do I want it to be. I made the guild just for something to do and it wasn't my intention to lead a raid guild at all (its a dad server ..1 group content btw).

So I would suggest if thats what people want then be proactive and make a guild and go throw your bot armies at stuff and have fun, and dont dump your mental issues on me if your not getting enough attention or whatever. I dont log in everyday to occupy everyone else time and make plans for everyone, the reason I am playing on this server is because its casual and doesnt require raids to do everything. There were 8 of us at times killing Vulak and AoW but his shouldnt be the case. it should only take six (Control back me up here =p) But it takes time to balance stuff.

This however doesnt mean I want to zerg everything down with bot armies, which I was clear about a number of times in chat but it seems some people live in their own little bubble where the world revolves around them and they dont hear anything that doesnt come out of their own mouth.

Ah, the life of a guild leader :) I guess it's all about expectation setting hehe.

Similar with the server I guess, so ya, to confirm the assertion, I'd like to get things balanced where raids are possible for 6 people. However, I do want to toss in the caveat (not for you, but just in general) that 'possible' for a single group doesn't necessarily mean 'any' single group.

In general, killing things with low numbers in EQ means you need good players, well geared and aa'd characters, and a good mix of classes for the encounter. That doesn't mean that I think everything should be balanced on the knife-edge of possibility, but it's something that I think everyone should be aware of. Of course, since all zones aren't instanced, that also means the well-balanced 6 man fight will be pretty trivial when someone brings 12. Although, maybe I should investigate instancing everything hehe... :)

I don't wanna take this off topic but I have noticed the "Bot armies".

I was cool with 2box but I have seen people running 6 characters alone, unless all of them are real people who are just lazy and auto follow one person and do stuff at the same time...

As a solo player it's a little depressing because that kinda eliminates the thought of grouping up with a few other people and just taking stuff down.

The server should be ip enforcing a 4box limit, so anyone that wants a full group does need to group with others.
Also, just because some people want to 4box doesn't mean everyone does, so there's no reason that boxing being possible should eliminate the thought of grouping with a few people. Some people just want different things out of their playsessions.

I realize I'm in the minority of opinions on a lot of details, but I honestly prefer to solo; no bots, no boxing, no MQ, no mama- no papa-- no cousins. If I can't do it solo, with potions and self-buffs it may as well not even exist. Which sucks, a little bit, tbh, but this is the best gig going- and I hope it endures.

I'm confused. If OP is so against bot armies, whose characters are Hansel, Gretel and Ceejay? Yours right? If I'm mistaken, ignore me.

People need to stop whining and just play the game. I'm not really sure who the OP is referring to - but I honestly haven't been asked or asked for anyone to flag me or my crew. I know Hansel helped me out once on Bristlebane (which I am appreciative of).

As for people who are against boxers or bot armies (if that is what we call 4 toons these days) - plenty of solo servers out there. It's nice that we're able to find a server that is one group content that allows you to box. There's a lot of us who have kids and families and don't have time for groups to form to take down mobs. If soloing is your thing - then run a single toon but don't cast shade at people running 4 and you don't like it.

Or people who waste their time telling another person they are wasting their time replying to a post. I don't think anyone cares what you think about 4 people boxing 4 complete groups to do anything. I'm not doing that - and if anyone is - who f'n cares? Are they having fun? Cause that's what it is all about.

It's people like yourself who tear down the community on servers such as this one. Keep your opinions to yourself - no one cares what you consider 'zerg'. Go have fun with your buddy of 30 years or whatever and continue 2 person 2 boxing content and shunning anyone who asks you for help and continue about your loner ways. Let people have their fun.

Wow.... ok....so what the heck did I ever do to you that you have decided to flame the crap out of me? I said in my post that the guild I created is not supposed to be a raid guild and for people coming to the server from other places should Know this (Wasnt directed at you, i have never spoken to you or played with you). This is the server fourm so this is as good a place as any to make a post about this.

As for who I play with and why...how is that your concern? You seem to know a whole lot more about me then I know about you. You were the one who invited yourself into a post that wasn't directed at you and decided to offer an opinion nobody asked for.

I was looking for a new server to start playing on again for my yearly EQ phase/fix. Everything sounded great from the server description (and i prefer 2 box limits personally). However your banter back and forth suggests people are boxing a lot more than 2 chars.

Ahh ok thanks for the info. Seems the server description and other posts are a little misleading, they sound like its a 2 box limit. I guess it should be changed to "multi-boxing is ok".

*Edit* Actually i see posts from last month that Control states its a 2 box limit. I guess the limit has changed?

Bummer! I was reading the server description and forums/change updates etc and this seemed like a pretty awesome server. I really like that as an admin you're very involved and on top of things.

I generally stay away from servers that allow more than 2-boxing for various reasons, but it's all personal preference.

Anyway, keep up the good work and good luck with the server!
