Man it feels good to be back on again. I have been messing with macros and I came across a weird situation where the math just isn't adding up for me and I would like some of y'alls input.
I was testing what would be a more efficient short heal (versus CE). My two spells of choice is Holy Light (3.8 cast time) vs Supernal Remedy (1.8 cast time) as a lv65 cleric with about 360 AAs.
When I began testing, something seemed off to me visually when I compared my two macros side by side. They almost seemed equal in time; so I broke out my stopwatch and began testing.
I have checked and triple checked and I am not sure why the below is occurring and would like y'alls input.
Some things to note, I was only logged in on this character (no other eqgame.exe running); he is currently in PoK; and I set the eqgame.exe affinity to 12 CPU's w/ max 99 FPS.
Holy Light at 3.4 seconds cast time (w/ spell haste from buff) and + 2 seconds cast delay (estimated) = 5.4 seconds
Holy Light x 4 macro'd /casts SHOULD roughly equal = 21.6 seconds
Macro Holy Light x 4 casts: 23.19 seconds
Spam clicking x 4 casts: 19.77 seconds
Supernal Remedy at 1.8 seconds cast time and + 2 seconds cast delay (estimated) = 3.8 seconds
Supernal Remedy x 4 macro'd /casts SHOULD roughly equal = 15.2 seconds
Macro Supernal Remedy x 4 casts: 20.32 seconds
Spam clicking x 4 casts: 19.24 seconds
Some questions I have:
- 1) Is it possible that an AA is causing Holy Light to be faster then normal? (Actual casting speed for Holy Light is 3.8 and comes down to 3.4 with Aura of Reverence)
2) Is the casting delay for Supernal Remedy slower then 2 seconds?
3) Why is spam clicking spells so much more faster then macros? (Noteworthy: Holy Light macro was roughly made while Supernal Remedy was more accurately made)
4) And my big overarching question is just how is this possible? Is this a bug?
I look forward to reading y'alls' comments, help and suggestions.
Thank you,
Burdoc
